Materiomics is a new field of study that provides a foundation for multiscale material framework representation, with some support from common materials like protein-based ones. Here, we lay out the scope and explain the theoretical underpinnings of the discipline of materiomics as well as the benefits of a materiomic approach to the understanding of natural and synthetic materials as well as the design of new materials
