Biography

Ricardo Branco has completed his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Coimbra. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Coimbra. From 2000 to 2015, he was Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra.

Research Area

Mechanical behavior of materials, fatigue and fracture of engineering materials, fatigue analysis of mechanical and structural notched components, application of finite element method to fracture mechanics, application of remeshing techniques to fatigue crack growth, low-cycle fatigue, and fatigue crack initiation.
